The Eastside Lansing Food Co-op is open for business!

Your neighborhood grocery store offers fresh produce harvested from local farms, freshly prepared foods, meat and dairy products, and a wide selection of grocery and frozen items. 

In addition, fresh coffee and pastries, lunch, and dinner can be enjoyed at tables and chairs in the sunny south room.

Do you need a membership to shop at ELFCO?
Everyone is welcome to shop at ELFCO. No membership is necessary.
What are ELFCO's hours of operation?

Monday – Friday 10 am – 7 pm
Saturday 10 am – 6 pm
Sunday 10 am – 4 pm

Does ELFCO take EBT?

Yes! ELFCO accepts EBT payment on qualifying items.

What payment cards does ELFCO accept?
All debit cards, most major credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay. 
How are ELFCO's prices?
ELFCO offers a wide variety of items at many price points.

For example, spaghetti sauce is available for $2.95 (Ragu), $3.39 (Prego), to $4.99 (Organic Newman’s, and Muir Glen).

Spaghetti noodles are $1.59 (Muellers) and $3.59 (organic).  

Frozen Pizza ranges from $3.49 (Roma) to $8.89 (Mandia, Italy), to 10.95 (Motor City). 

Fresh tomatoes directly from local farmers are $1.29 a pound, a lower price than commercial tomatoes from larger stores. And in season local tomatoes taste so good!

Is produce at ELFCO supplied by local farmers?

Yes! Locally grown apples, tomatoes, potatoes, beets, onions, leeks, lettuce, garlic, and peppers are all in the store now. Since many local farmers have year-round growing operations, fresh produce will be available twelve months of the year. When you purchase fresh produce from ELFCO, you are putting money into your neighbor’s pocket.

What local farms are offering their produce at ELFCO?

Owosso Organics, Blue Mitten Farm, Magnolia Ave. Farm, Cinzori Farms, Hillcrest Farms, Peckham Farms, Grazing Fields, Appleschram, and Hickory Knoll Farms, to name a few.

Who makes the products offered in ELFCO's prepared foods case?

Many selections are made by chefs from Allen Neighborhood Center’s Incubator Kitchen powered by Lake Trust, and the Rathbun Accelerator Kitchen, including Smokeshow BBQ, Teff-rific, and Mr. Leslie’s Cheesecakes. Additional selections are offered by Woody’s and Aladdin’s. 

Can I sell my locally grown produce or prepared foods to ELFCO?

Is there a place inside ELFCO to sit down?
There are tables and chairs for customers to relax and enjoy coffee, pastries, breakfast burritos, lunch and dinner.
Does ELFCO sell coffee?
ELFCO offers three kinds of Equal Exchange coffee, all day long. Cups of Columbian, French Roast and Breakfast Blend Decaf are available for $1.89 (12 oz.), $2.37 (16 oz.) and $2.83 (20 oz.). Bulk coffee beans and packaged beans will soon be available.
Are there gluten free items at ELFCO?
As more and more products are delivered, there will be a strong collection of gluten free products, including Canyon Bakehouse 7-Grain Bread, Pacific Foods Carrot Ginger Bisque, and Healthy Choice Power Bowls.
Will there be any discounted items?

Every day, there are a discounted produce items in the cooler’s ‘Produce Discount Door.’  Our Produce Manager, Milton Shoup, is always on the lookout for great deals, so check out the store, or stay close to elfco.org for more info. 

 

(Speaking of saving money...) will ELFCO have a bulk food section?
In November 2022, ELFCO will offer 80+ items in bulk, including nuts, rice, beans, and spices.
Will ELFCO sell beer and wine?
ELFCO has applied for a beer and wine license with the city of Lansing. Follow us on social media and keep an eye on our website for updates.
What do customers receive when they buy an annual $30 membership?
ELFCO sells new annual memberships for $30, which gives members 3% off their purchases. 

Former members, both lifetime and regular members of the previous ELFCO store, are still members. They are asked to stop in the store and update their phone number and email address
